Are your body oils formulated with natural ingredients ?
Yes, at Adopt, our body oils are formulated with particular attention to naturalness. A large proportion of the ingredients used are of natural origin. These oils are designed to deeply nourish your skin while respecting its sensitivity and our commitment to more environmentally-friendly formulas. Our latest body oils, monoï des iles and monoï blanc d'absolu de tiaré, are part of our hummingbird programm , which aims to support sustainably managed ingredient chains and local know-how.
What are the properties of body oil ?
Body oil is known for its nourishing agents, making it ideal for dry skin with a high need for nutrients. Our moisturizing creams/ moisturizing lotions have complementary properties that meet different needs: -Body oil properties : Intensely nourishes the skin. It helps restore the lipid barrier, leaving skin soft, satin-smooth and radiant. Body oils are particularly effective for dry or very dry skin, and can also be used for massage and relaxation. - Difference from a moisturizing cream/lotion: A moisturizing cream/moisturizing lotion has a lighter texture and primarily delivers water to the skin to maintain its hydration. The cream is ideal for quick daily use, while the oil is perfect for a richer treatment. For a complete routine, you can combine the two: apply a moisturizing cream to maintain hydration, then an oil to seal in this moisture and sublimate the skin.
Does body oil leave a greasy film on the skin ?
At Adopt, our body oils are specially formulated to be nourishing yet fast-absorbing. They don't leave a greasy film on the skin, but rather a soft, satiny finish. For best results, apply the oil to slightly damp skin after showering: it will penetrate quickly, leaving your skin moisturized and sublimated without a sticky feel.
When and how should I use my body oil ?
Body oil is best used after a shower or bath, when the skin is still slightly damp. Apply a small amount of oil all over the body, using circular movements to ensure penetration. This nourishes and enhances the skin, while reinforcing its natural moisture barrier. We do not recommend using our oils for sun exposure, as they may contain photosensitizing ingredients which can cause skin reactions.
Can it stain clothes or sheets ?
At Adopt, our body oils are formulated to penetrate the skin quickly, reducing the risk of transfer to clothing or sheets. However, as with any oily product, a slight risk of staining may exist if the oil has not had time to be fully absorbed. To avoid this, we recommend waiting a few minutes after application before dressing or lying down.
For which skin type ?
A body oil is suitable for all skin types, but is particularly beneficial for dry to very dry skin. For normal and sensitive skin, it can be used on an occasional basis to give a satin finish.
